This month we’re getting to know our Service Technician, Patrick, and boy did we learn a lot about him! Take a read for yourself!
Tell us one of your proudest achievements?
At the age of 22, I had a retail shopfront where I ran my computer repair business. I also had a business called My-Lan, it was a LAN party room dedicated to gaming Tournaments on PC with prizes for the local gaming community. Lots of fun nights were had… All came to life through just an idea and lots of hard work.
Tell us something that none of your colleagues know about you?
I worked in Moranbah, a mining town west of Mackay. Whilst my main role was in IT, I was also trained and certified to perform drug and alcohol testing on thousands of miners every month. I also ran my own website design business for +5 years full time as a sole trader.
Does tomato sauce go in the fridge or cupboard?
It goes in the cupboard until it’s been opened. Then it stays in the fridge. Please don’t stand there with the fridge door open for too long, it’s a pet hate.
Tell us the funniest joke you know?
I gave my blind friend a cheese grater. He said it was the goriest thing he’s ever read.
After you left school, what was your dream job?
My dream job before leaving school was to be an astronaut. My dream job after leaving school was simply to have fun while earning enough money to pay the bills.
What do you enjoy most about working for Future IT Services?
I couldn’t say just one thing, as there are a few ingredients that make this recipe so good. The flexibility of working in the office and having the technology to work from home; the diversity of knowledge within the team; and lastly, the training and progression pathways.
If you were arrested with no explanation what would your friends and family think you have done?
Attempting to build an overnight enterprise that would make millions, without knowing what I was doing and ending up doing more harm than good.
If you were stranded on a desert Island and could have one piece of technology, what would it be and why?
I’d have a solar battery charger. I could then charge all the iPads, iPhones and laptops leftover from the previous people who threw their toys away because they all went flat as they didn’t have any chargers… Haha, suckers!
If you had to pick one superpower what would it be?
Hmm… I have several answers to this. Two answers were selfless ones, so I will provide my selfish answer. I would like the ability to have my body repair itself on the fly. Being in peak condition, not having to sleep, healing wounds, etc… Man, could get so much done! Though if my blood cells were that good, the government would take me hostage.
